Copy-pasting files to the Android data folder is nothing less than a nightmare. And trust me. It gets a lot more frustrating for noobs.
I mean, you can see the Android data folder, and you know it has all the files. Yet, it flashes an Empty sign whenever you try to access data.
Well, don’t be so pissed. The files show empty due to security purposes.
But let me tell you one thing. It is possible to copy, edit, update, and delete files from the Android data folder. Allow me to share the fix with you.
Copying Files to Android Data Folder with 3rd Party Apps
You need to download a file explorer from the Play Store to do this trick. I personally suggest the FV File Manager. This application runs smoothly on any Android and lives up to its promises. Follow the below steps after downloading the app:
- Open the File Explorer and enter Storage.
- The app will ask permission to access all data. Enable the option.
- Go back to the home page and click on the Storage once again.
- This time, you can see the system folders, like Alarm and Android Data.
- Tap on Android Data to access the files inside the folder.
- Now, navigate to the file you want to copy. Long-pressing the icon will make the copy option available.
- After copying the file, return to the Android data folder.
- Select where you want to paste the file. It might ask for your permission. Just tap on Allow.
- Finally, click the Paste option on the top corner, and you are done.
The above tricks work for copying the files to OBB folders, too.
Another App That Might Help You Copying Files to Android Data Folder
We have another app in the house that does a similar job. Yes, I am talking about Files by Marc apps & software.
However, using this application has two major drawbacks. First, it does not copy and paste the files. Instead, the app only helps you move a file from one folder to another. Second, using Files can be quite complicated. Yet, this hack is quite popular. Here’s how you can get your job done:
- Download Files from the Play Store.
- Force Stop your default file explorer.
- Open the Android data folder.
- Tap on the three-dot menu from the top right and click on Open New Window.
- Return to your home screen and open Recents. There will be two windows of files.
- Split your screen and fit the two file windows.
- Now, you can move any file from one window to another without hassle.
You Can Copy Files to Android Data Folder With A PC
Of course, this technique is the least popular. Yet, it is your only option if the above tricks do not work on your Android. Just go through these steps to copy your files to the Android data folder:
- Use a USB cable to build a connection between your phone and PC.
- Download Android Studio on your computer and launch it.
- Access the Device Explorer File from there.
- You will find the Android data folder of your system. Open it.
- Now, go to your desired file and copy it.
- Return to the Android data folder and paste the file there.
My Last Few Thoughts
I understand if you do not want to go through all these technical hassles. But guys! We don’t have any other options. So, it’s better to choose a convenient technique and get the job done.
And one more thing. Do not move or copy files to the Android data folder without knowing their functionalities. Your system will act weird if you tamper with the important files.
