From the early 2010’s, ‘Smart’ technology has made our lives easier, quicker, safer, and of course… smarter. With new ranges of smart devices hitting the market every day, and each one proving to be better than its predecessor.
Calling these devices ‘smart’ was the least we could do without exaggerating about them. And some of our old favorites like watches, cars, and cell phones have followed this trend.
The old trusted brand Samsung caught up with them in no time.
Apart from making cool smart phones packed with features that we used to goggle at as teenagers, Samsung has recently started making smart watches. And you can guess already, that they’re doing a good job at it. And the Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 is here to prove it.
Don’t believe me? Read my Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 review to see for yourselves.

Getting Into The Meaty Part Of The Review
I have been using this watch for some time now, and let me assure you, it’s not just some smart device pretending to look like a watch. It is a fully-fledged watch which is also a compact package of so many features that it barely qualifies as a watch, but still somehow remains to be.
Here in my Galaxy Watch Active 2 review, I will try to elaborate the things that I liked, and didn’t like, about this cool new toy.
How the Design Of The Watch Impressed Me?
What caught my eye at first glance when I opened the packaging was the design of this thing. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is designed to fit on any wrist sizes and will ensure optimum level of comfort to anyone wearing it. Regardless of how long you keep it on.
I could go jogging, working out, or even a swim when I felt like it.
The 44 mm display makes it big enough to get a clear view of the dial while on the go, while still keeping it sporty. On the wrist-facing bottom, the watch is equipped with 8 photodiodes. These diodes ensure precise heart rate monitoring which could be a pretty useful thing.
The strap is comfy and easily adjustable, and comes in a wide range of color variants to go with your outfit.
What’s On the Inside
The dual-core 1.15GHz Exynos 9110 chipset, along with the 4GB storage and 768 RAM to be exact. Together, they deliver the same performance as its predecessor Galaxy Watch did. However, the RAM is boosted up to 1.5 GB on the LTE models. Trust me, the effect shows.
The Samsung One UI makes a comeback here featuring the Tizen operating system, and is funked up with a few new tweaks.
For example, you can take photos with the Wearable applications on your phone’s camera, and the watch will copy the pattern and use it as background.
You could use this feature to match your watch with your outfit. Or simply to stick the image of beautiful scenery, say a sunset, as your display background.
The Biggest Benefits Galaxy Watch Active 2 Offers
One of the coolest additions to the Galaxy Watch’s design that made it the real MVP was the rotating bezel.
This amazing feature allows you to navigate around the UI on the run without using much effort. The rotating bezel is a digital touch-enabled one that you can swipe around to switch across feature to feature on the UI. This ensures an easier and swifter control over the device.
The watch comes in two variants; Bluetooth, and Bluetooth+LTE. This means you can make and receive calls and send texts from your wrist like the old sci-fi movies without needing to get your phone out of your pocket on the go.
On top of all that, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 supports voice and text translations, real-time, in 16 different languages. It also allows you to respond to tweets on Twitter, and watch videos on the display.
You can also listen to your favorite music on Spotify with this watch. This is certainly a perk since music is almost like a necessity for jogs and workout sessions.
Speaking of workouts, the watch can track more than 39 of them, and comes with stress tracking, meditation, sleep analysis, and a running feature that works with real-time pace meters.
Pros And Cons
After going through the specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2, it won’t be blasphemous to say that this watch has the potential to give the Apple Watch a serious competition.
Having said that, there are still certain things about this watch that can still be improved. Here’s a list of the good sides and the not-so-good sides of the Smart Watch.

My Overall Impression After Using this Thing
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is like the Usain Bolt of smart watches. By this, I don’t mean it’s superfast or unbeatable. But it has the tendency of getting better with time.
The watch already beat its previous model, the Galaxy Watch Active with its cool features and unique design, and hopefully will give its other competitors in the market a run for their money.
Not just feature-wise, the watch makes its stand also in terms of design. The humble, watch-like display gives it a retro look, unlike other smart watches, and the comfortable yet trendy straps make sure it sits on your wrist firmly.
Another reason why I would recommend this watch is the price. It has almost every feature an Apple Watch has, but costs almost half the price. Additionally, it comes with a 1-year warranty and all its parts are replaceable in case of accidents.
So, what are you waiting for? If you liked reading about this watch and wanna try it on, order it right away. You can thank me later.
