There used to be a time when everything was wired. Be it telephones for communication, or headphones for entertainment.
Everything was tangled up in cords and wires that although ensured a good service, turned out to be a huge drawback in terms of portability.
Then came Bluetooth; one of the best gifts of modern technology. Now everything is not just wireless, but super light and small in size. Musical earbuds are probably the best example of this.
These started taking over the market by the end of the last decade, and now they have become a necessity for all the tech-savvy, music enthusiasts, and people who live an active life.
While there are countless new brands and models making earbuds with impressive features, here’s one that really caught my eye. The Blitzwolf BW-FYE5. I went ahead and bought this piece of wonder. It cost me less than 50 dollars to get these ear buds. That’s what I call saving some money!
After using it for two months or so, here’s my Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 Review where I discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of the product.

What’s In The Box?
The first thing that caught my notice after opening the package is how small it is. The textured plastic case gives you a premium feel when you hold it, and the tiny size lets you carry it in the pocket of your tightest pair of jeans.
The lid of the case opens and closes with a tiny click which I find very reassuring. Inside the case you’ll find two shiny black plastic earbuds resting firmly on the felt interior.
How Do They Look?
First things first, these are a pair of Bluetooth earbuds, as you know.
So, they aren’t supposed to be very big. But the problem I tend to face with this type of earphones is that I keep losing them due to their extremely small size. Literally, they’re usually no bigger than a fruit drop, and that also causes them to feel loose inside your ear.
But these babies right here, they are just the right size.
Let’s Get Into the Details
Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 wireless earphones come with a handful of eartips of various sizes for different ear types. They are small (earbuds are 21.5×15.5x13mm and the charging case is 60x37x28mm only), easily portable (earbuds 4g, charging case weighs just about 29 g), yet just big enough so that they don’t get lost in your backpack.
The shape of the earphones is slightly longer at the stem that goes into your ear canal with the tip finally being comparatively smaller than other earbuds.
This prevents it from falling off your ear when you’re going on running routine wearing them.
They’re small enough to fit inside your ear, but not so small that you lose them. And the unique futuristic shape makes them look cool and classy. I’d give ‘em a 10 on 10 look-wise.
What These Wireless Earphones are Made Of?
Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 wireless earphones are made of solid shiny black plastic, which makes them durable.
The case is also black plastic on the back with an easy-flip lid made of see-through plastic. The rubber tips on the earbuds make them comfortable and hold on to the inner cavity of your ear. And they also come in different sizes to fit right into your ear.
How Good is the Sound?
Despite of being wireless and all, it does not compromise one bit with the sound quality.
I mean, it’s not as good as hi-tech gears like Apple Airpods, for example, but the sound quality is satisfactory considering the fact that these are a pair of entry-level earbuds.
They have a really good bass level (as low as 17Hz) which is a little boosted enhancing the vocals, and decent mids (with treble as high as 18KHz). Although the highs sounded a little distorted to me.
There is no active noise-cancellation, but since they are in-ear headphones, the sound covers up most of the background noise just as fine.
How Do You Get Them to Work on Calls?
That was all about the sound quality; now let’s take a look at the call clarity.
The Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 has a built-in microphone as well. It allows you to make and receive calls on the go. Although you can hear the person on the other side fairly loud and clear, the sound on their end may seem a little hollow with the background noise amplified.
That is probably due to the microphone being located so far away from your mouth. It tends to catch up all the sound around you before it catches your voice.
How Long Do They Work?
The battery life of this thing is quite good for an entry-level device.
The earbuds have a battery life of 2.5 hours each, but you can charge them up for more or less 3 times with their case, which takes another two hours to charge. Overall it won’t be exaggerating to say that they deliver a battery life of about 7 to 8 hours.
The case is see-through and you can actually see the LED meter on them for battery percentage. The case is also really portable and holds up to 3-4 charges.
The battery life long, considering their size. And who’d use earbuds for more than 2 hours at a stretch? Your ears need to rest too, right?
And speaking of range, they cover a range of 15 meters. So you can work out effortlessly while wearing them without having to carry your device in your pocket weighing you down.
These Things Are Waterproof as Well!
Another great thing about these earbuds is that they are weatherproof. They are equipped with IPX6 waterproof technology. This not only makes them ideal for working out and hiking, where you have a high chance of getting all sweaty, but it also allows you to use them during a downpour or snowstorm, or even in the shower.
How to Set Up Blitzwolf BW-FYE5?
Setting up the Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 is fairly easy and simple. You can do it in three easy steps. You just have to:
- Turn on the Bluetooth earbuds by pressing and holding the button on each of them simultaneously. Once the red and blue lights start going on and off, it takes about 5 seconds.
- Switch on the Bluetooth on your android smartphone or laptop.
- Turn on ‘search’ and let your device find the earbuds, then select ‘BW-FYE5’ and pair.
And you’re set to go.
The Blitwolf BW-FYE5 is an extremely user-friendly gear. Once you set it up with a device, it’ll automatically pair itself with that device the next time you turn them on. You won’t have to go through the trouble of pairing them every single time you put them on.
Why I Like Blitzwolf BW-FYE5?
Overall, I really liked these earbuds for their quality-to-price ratio. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gone for Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 review.
Sure, they aren’t as fancy as Klipsch or Apple, but they do provide the basic sound quality and service that you ought to be expecting from a pair of entry-level Bluetooth earbuds.
They’re portable and lightweight; at the same time have a longer battery life than most of their counterparts. Another thing that made me vouch for them is the shape of the earbuds that are longer in the stem, and gradually start to get smaller as it goes up to the eartips.
Many other earphone manufacturers in the market don’t give this much thought, but the shape of the earbuds really matters especially if you’re going to be wearing them during outdoor activities or workout sessions.
Another thing about them that intrigued me is the price. They are entry-level earbuds but deliver a fairly good performance nevertheless, but they cost a lot less than many other similar products made by other brands.
I’m more of a brand person, so I was a little skeptical about these, but the price seemed just right (it’s under 50 bucks, people) and so is the performance in my opinion.
