Ever since the Apple AirPods hit the markets back in 2016, the entire face of Bluetooth connectivity along with musical experience changed for the better. Soon after Apple launched the AirPods, other companies started making wireless earbuds with the same design and mechanism.
Even though Apple launched the first products of such kind, now Bluetooth earbuds have become a universal tool for music lovers all over the globe. That’s regardless of what device they use.
Keeping the basics of the original concept unchanged, the manufacturers have launched audio devices modifying the design. Not only that, they’ve made the product more functional for the users.
Here I’ll be talking about a few of the best AirPod Clones for Android users, in case you’re planning to buy a pair. These are my favorites as well. Since we all have different priorities and preferences behind choosing earbuds, I’ve decided to pick the ones that focus on different aspects of sound and performance individually.

Top-Rated Cheap AirPod Clones That’d Give You A Bang for Your Buck
There are so many varieties of AirPod clones out there, each packed with their own sets of specs and features. But how would you identify the ones that are truly worth your money?
By ‘Worth your money’, I don’t mean that they’re cost efficient, but the ones that actually provide you with the service and durability that they promised. Here are a bunch of Airpod Clones that ticked all my boxes for the best AirPod clones, considering every nook and cranny they have.
JLab Audio Epic Air ANC True Wireless Bluetooth 5 Earbuds
No products found.No products found.
I’ve been using JLab audio devices for quite some time now. When I found out they launched a pair of Bluetooth earbuds, I just had to get my hands on these. I ordered them right away.
Firstly, let me tell you that these are bass-oriented earbuds. They have a frequency curve that is high on the bass end. If you like your bass fat and crisp, then these are the earbuds for you.
The thing that really impressed me about these earbuds is the active noise cancellation. It has three separate modes of ANC to be exact. ANC On, ANC Off, and Be Aware. As you’ve probably guessed by now, the On and Off features allow you to activate or deactivate the modes accordingly.
Many earphone users complain that they can’t stand the Active Noise Cancelling mode on their devices more than a few minutes because they feel some pressure in their eardrums. That happens due to a phenomenon called “Eardrum Suck”. Let’s explain using an example from an everyday incident. It feels almost like the pressure decrease you feel in your ears when riding a speeding elevator.
JLab claims that the ANC in these earbuds is equipped with Smart Hybrid technology. It utilizes two types of ANC tech (Feedforward ANC + Feedback ANC). These two work together to provide you the best combination.
The feedforward ANC is basically a microphone that sits on the outside of the earbud and captures sound frequencies even before they pass through to your eardrums. This is the “Conventional” ANC technology that has been around for years and has been used by manufacturers for years.
But the feedback ANC utilizes a microphone that sits inside the earbud eavesdropping on the sound along with the user. This makes room for the technology to tweak and modify the sound signals that get through to your eardrums and eventually impact a broader range of frequencies.
The way the Active Noise Cancellation works on these earbuds is what puts the ‘Active’ in its name. For example, if you get on an airplane and turn the ANC on, you’d get just about an average noise cancellation.
But within a few seconds, you’ll notice that the smart ANC is adapting itself to the environment around you and learn how to produce the best noise noiseless musical experience for you. All the while keeping the texture and integrity of your music crisp and intact.
What really sets the JLab Epic TWS ANC earbuds apart from other ANC earbuds or even Apple AirPods is the ‘Be Aware’ mode. It’s basically a combination between ANC On and ANC Off mode. It enables you to stay in tabs with what’s happening around you, even if you’re wearing the earbuds.
This is something pretty rare in case of ANC earbuds or headphones. You can use this mode for when you’re at work and you want to keep listening to your music but also want to stay aware and respond when a coworker approaches you.
You can also customize the noise around you even further using the JLab Air ANC app on your Android cellphone.
Let’s take a closer look at the build and design of this thing. The earbuds have a pretty decent fit. They’re constructed in a shape that’d fit easily into your ear cavies and sit there firmly and comfortably. There are 3 sets of gel tips (small, medium, and large) to fit into any size and shape of ears.
We don’t want them to fall off now, do we?
Furthermore, the ear tips are made of Cloud Foam. This is a special type of foam that expands to fit inside your ear tight and snug once its inserted. There’s also an IP55 rating resistance from dirt and sweat.
In case you may damage your earbuds and need a replacement, JLab offers a 2-year warranty to make it easier.
The Bluetooth connectivity of these earbuds is pretty solid. I haven’t faced any issues with the signal dropping out while I was listening to music or was on call on them.
On top of that, they even have a separate feature called ‘Movie Mode’ that elevates your movie watching experience by minimizing the latency that people often face while watching videos using Bluetooth audio devices.
Yes, I’m saying that you won’t notice your video and audio going out of sync while binging your favorite show on Netflix with these.
Speaking of design, the charging box of these earbuds deserve some praise. It has a combination of both, wireless charging and an integrated charging cable on the side. You can either charge the case using the USB type-A charging cable or just place it on a wireless charging pad and forget about it.
But I doubt you’d need to charge it so frequently because the earbuds themselves provide a 12+ hours playback and 8+ hours without ANC on. The charging case that offers an additional 36+ hours of battery power.
The quick charging takes only 3 hours for the case to charge up. In an overall comparison between the JLab Epic Air ANC, and any other model, JLab tops the tank on various aspects. For example, the Sony WF 1000XM3, or the even the all-time favorite Bose QueitComfort Noise Cancelling Earbuds both fall short when it comes to battery power and cost-efficiency.
Pros
- Smart ANC offers a more flexible listening experience with three separate ANC modes.
- Cloud Foam ear tips ensure that the earbuds fit comfortably inside your ears.
- Microphone focuses on and catches the sound of your voice more clearly than regular earbuds.
- IP55 sweat resistance technology will protect the earbuds from sweat and dirt.
- The ANC feature of these earbuds can also be used for getting a quiet atmosphere for sleeping or studying even when the music is turned off.
Cons
- The connectivity often falters during long phone calls.
- The Battery runs out quicker than promised and I really didn’t appreciate it.

Soundcore Liberty Air True Wireless Earphones
No products found.No products found.
If you prefer a slightly softer, but still a crisp sound, then I’ve got just the right earbuds for you. The Soundcore Liberty Air True Wireless Earphones offer what might be the best natural sound among its counterparts.
These earbuds will not only give you a natural sound, but an overall natural experience. Let me elaborate how. The driver diaphragms of these earbuds are coated with graphene; a material that ensures that all the sound frequencies are oscillated with the utmost precision.
Be it the deepest bass, or the brightest mids, or even the soft lush trebles, the Liberty Air will reproduce it all with an exceptional clarity throughout the entire frequency graph. I played several tracks from different genres with different sound signatures on them just to test their capabilities.
Here’s what I found:
Rock: I played some classic rock numbers starting with AC/DC straight up till Pink Floyd. I noticed a decent consistency in the mids and trebles which is crucial in rock music. The basslines were also quite crisp and booming.
I didn’t have to use any separate equalizer to adjust the presets. The default preset worked great for me.
Pop and Indie: I’m not a huge fan of pop but I do listen to some old classics such as The Beatles and some modern-day sensations like BTS. One of the most important elements for pop music is the highs and the lows.
I’d have to admit that the Soundcore Liberty Air True Wireless Earphones were noticeably clear on these earbuds, making them one of the best AirPod clones out there. The last time I enjoyed listening to pop music so much was on my Apple AirPods.
The warm and soothing tonality that they offer adds more dimensions to Indie numbers as well.
Country and Blues: Country and Blues music is all about the acoustics. With these earbuds, I could hear each and every movement across the frequency range clearly enough to tell each instrument apart.
More often than not, earbuds often tend to become too harsh on the eardrums while attempting to keep the details loud and crisp.
But surprisingly enough, that wasn’t the case with these. Despite offering clarity to its finest, they had a warm and mellow feel to their sound.
Hip Hop and Techno: Again, not a huge fan of these genres, but I do listen to some numbers while I’m working out. The basslines and the trebles sound adequately clear on these earbuds. If you’re a fan of Hip Hop and Techno, then these would work great for you.
If you’re into other genres such as metal or emo, these should also work equally well considering the drivers are still the same.
Not just music, these work great for voice calls as well. The upgraded noise cancellation technology boosts the clarity of your voice. Each earbud has a microphone that’s equipped with noise reduction technology.
There’s also a feature called stereo calls. It further enhances the call quality by allowing you to hear the voice of the person on the other side of the call through both earpieces. This adds more dimensions to the clarity of the voice calls making them sound like the other person is sitting right next to you.
It practically dials down the noise around you and enhances the microphone’s performance when you’re on call. This feature would come in handy especially for those who ride the metro a lot and have to attend calls/meetings on their rides.
Apart from the sound quality, the build and design of these earbuds are also almost identical to Apple AirPods. They come in a glossy hard plastic case, and have pods on the bottom of each earpiece. These pods hold the microphones in, as well work to maintain the balance so that they don’t fall off your ears.
The playback time of these earbuds is 5 hours on a single charge, and an extended 15 hours if the case is included. The integrated touch controls grant you the extra freedom of effortlessly adjusting your music preferences and answering calls on the go without even having to slow down. You won’t even need to stop. Just touch on the chasses of either earbud, and that’s all you need to do.
Pros
- Driver diaphragms made of graphene provide extra clarity to music and calls.
- Graphene also makes the earbuds 33% lighter than other materials.
- Integrated touch controls ensure you never have to slow down to adjust the music or answer a call.
- People get up to 5 hours of playback time on each earbud, and an extra 15 hours provided by the charging case.
- I got as many as four sets of gel ear tips for four different ear sizes.
- I got warm and mellow sound that makes acoustic music an even better experience.
- IPX5 waterproofing makes them suitable for outdoor activities and working out.
Cons
- Some degree of pairing issues might occur with some models of smartphones.
- Doesn’t offer a “Hearing Aid” functionality.
- The touch controls might seem a bit flaky, but again, it depends on the cellphone you’re pairing it with.

RHA Trueconnect
No products found. No products found. If you’re a person who leads an active life and has to do a lot of outdoor activity, then the RHA Trueconnect might just be the best built AirPod clones.
These low-profile, super lightweight and extremely compact earbuds might not look like much. However, their ergonomics have tiny little titbits that add up to a great design overall.
They’re not as big as Apple AirPods, and don’t have any long pods dangling from the bottom. Neither are they small like earbuds that just sit inside your ears and get lost inside them. Rather, they’re a combination of the two. Where you get both compactness and comfort in one package.
The lightweight and injection-molded construction of these earbuds ensures you get a snug fit and a physical noise isolation at the same time. So, you’ll get a passive noise cancellation even without ANC.
To make sure the earpieces fit securely inside your ear cavity, there is a wide selection of Comply™ TrueGrip Plus and RHA TrueConnect tips included with the earbuds. You won’t have to compromise with comfort or sound quality while you have them on.
Also, the IPX5 sweat, splash and weather resistance are there to take care of your beloved earbuds while you’re working out and sweating a lot, or even taking a stroll in the rain. They’re capable of brushing off almost any situation with the help of this advanced waterproofing technology.
The innovative stem design makes sure that your voice is transmitted through to the person on the other side of the call. They’ll get a distortion-free reception of your voice even when you’re on call in a windy or noisy environment.
Here’s something you might want to know about. Even though neither the audio nor the mic has ANC, this still works great to ensure a good audio and voice clarity for you.
I can go on and on about the build and design of this thing, but I’ll leave some parts of it out for you to find out. Let’s talk about its other aspects for the time being. Let’s talk about the sound that they deliver.
Well, honestly speaking, the sound quality seemed okay to me. Not outstanding, not something that’d make me want to jump with excitement, but just good enough to call it decent. But considering the price that these come at, and the build quality they have, I think a decent sound would do.
I mean, this is a build-centric device. If you really wanted earbuds that produce a great sound, you’d go looking for ones that focus on that. But even then, even after the sound quality not being their primary target, these offer an adequate amount of depth and clarity to each sound.
To be very honest, this is all you could ask for at the price.
The connectivity of these earbuds deserves some applauds as well. They’re powered by Bluetooth 5, the latest addition to Bluetooth technology. It ensures that you’re never left out in the middle of a conversation fumbling to fill in the blanks or miss a single beat of your favorite music tracks.
The fact that it’s compatible with any OS and any voice assistant just adds more to how great its connectivity is. Play any track, call any contact, open any app using the voice assistant- everything is just a single push of a button away.
The thing charges using a micro-USB cable and provides a maximum playtime of 5 hours on each earbud, which adds up with another 20 hours of backup with the charging case. The fast charging allows you to charge the entire unit along with the charging case up to 50% in just 15 minutes!
Pretty darn amazing, eh? So, what are you waiting for? Just grab a pair and set out for your next adventure!
Pros
- The huge battery offers 5 hours of playtime on each earbud, and an added 20 hours on the charging case.
- The build and design are outstandingly robust and suitable for outdoor activities.
- Unique stem design maximizes call quality to a great deal.
- You’ll get full device and digital assistant control via touch and mic.
- A range of Comply™ TrueGrip Plus and RHA TrueConnect tips is included in the package to ensure maximum comfort and security.
- Fast charging enables it to charge itself up fully within just 30 minutes or so.
Cons
- Sound quality is just above average, not actually premium grade if you ask me.
- Doesn’t come with ANC. That’s something which might make you reconsider.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Wireless Earbuds
No products found.No products found.
A lot of people have switched to wireless earbuds amidst the ongoing COVID-19 situation. We’re taking and attending online classes; some artists are even hosting concerts via various video platforms. Basically, everyone is working from home, and thus, the sales of earbuds have skyrocketed.
If you’re also working from home and looking for a complete package of good sound quality, portability, and efficiency, then you should check out the Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Wireless Earbuds. These babies are currently the best AirPod clones for neutral sound in the market.
By neutral sound, I don’t mean a flat frequency curve. The sound that they produce is anything but flat. The diamond-inspired drivers in these not only make the sound crystal clear, but they also increase the bandwidth of the sound frequency up to 15%, delivering twice the bass.
I’m a huge fan of funk and groove. So, when I go out for a run, I always have my separate playlist set for my me-time. These earbuds have provided me with a decent performance on the bass and treble, two of the most important elements of funk music.
Although I’d prefer a bit better performance on the highs and mids, but that’s just my personal taste.
The sound they produce is what you could call ‘balanced’ and ‘precise’. Probably that’s what the guys at Anker meant when they said ‘neutral’ on their website. Let me elaborate. There is a unique feature on these earbuds called HearID, and it does what it sounds like.
Using HearID, you can create your very own personalized sound profile and even customize the equalizer settings entirely according to your preference. HearID will map your hearing sensitivity by measuring how it responds at different frequencies and then analyze the results.
In turn it’ll provide you with a sound profile that is suitable just for you. Automated convenience at its finest.
There’s also the SoundCore app that allows you to choose from 22 different EQ settings and adjust on-ear controls. The app also provides regular firmware updates to make sure you always get the best performance with consistency.
Apart from the sound quality, they perform great with noise cancellation as well. Each earbud has two microphones incorporated inside them along with cVc 8.0 noise reduction technology.
It reduces environmental noises by 60%, while retaining 95% of your voice. This’ll make you sound louder and clearer. The feature really comes in handy for conference calls and Zoom meetings where there are multiple people talking at once.
We all know how battery-consuming video meetings can be. Especially if you’re using Bluetooth earbuds, this can be a huge issue. Nothing can be more annoying than running out of charge in the middle of a meeting.
Yes, you can charge your phone while still on call, but how would you charge your earbuds?
Fear not, because you won’t have to face this issue with the Soundcore Liberty Air 2. Each earbud provides a maximum playtime of 7 hours and an extended 28 hours with the charging case.
Even when you’re in a rush and don’t have the time to charge the device to its fullest, it’d provide you 2 hours of playtime with just 10 minutes of charging!
If you have to use them on the go, do remember to maintain proper safety measures especially when crossing busy streets. To make sure that you always remain safe and alert, they have an automated stereo/mono switch feature.
Just remove one of the earbuds from the charging case, and it’d give you a mono sound that you can wear on one ear. You can switch back to stereo mode simply by removing both the earbuds. You can do this easily while still on the go, because the charging case of the Liberty Air 2 is adorably tiny and fits inside any pocket effortlessly.
The package comes with a wide range of ear tips with sizes ranging from XS to XL, so you don’t have to worry about whether the tips will fit into your ears. They’ve got practically every size covered. With so many options, you can even try using different sized ear tips for different activities.
Like I use the M ones when I’m on an important call because I need to keep the earbuds tight and snug inside my ears, but I use the S ones when I’m going for a run, because I don’t want the music to block out the sound of my surroundings completely.
Just so you know, the bigger the ear tip size, the more passively soundproof it’d be.
There is literally no issue with the Bluetooth connectivity of these. I’ve tested them on several occasions. I’ve even tried walking away from my phone while on call to see if the signal drops. Well, it does drop when you go out of range, but until it does, the signal stays strong. I can just walk around the house and do chores while on call or while playing my favorite jam. Works great for those workout sessions.
Pros
- Diamond-inspired drivers ensure clear and accurate sound at its finest.
- Each earbud incorporates 2 built-in microphones with cVc noise-reduction technology.
- Unique HearID feature allows you to create your own personalized sound profile, or totally customize the EQ settings.
- HearID also maps your hearing sensitivity at multiple frequencies and intelligently analyzes the results.
- Soundcore mobile app provides 22 different EQ settings, and regular firmware updates.
- cVc 8.0 noise reduction technology reduces 60% of environmental noise while retaining your voice to sound 95% louder on call.
Cons
- The highs are very sibilant and can get quite fatiguing if you’re using the earbuds for an extended period of time.
- Lows require to be boosted if in a crowded area such as a public transport.

MPOW X3 ANC Wireless Earbuds
No products found.No products found.
If you’re in a tight budget, and looking for AirPod clones that won’t cost you a fortune, then I’ve got just the right pair for you. Say hello to the new MPOW X3 ANC Wireless Earbuds. Yes, they’ve got ANC, and yes, they’re cheap as hell. But that’s not all that made me add them to my list.
There’s more to them than meets the barcode scanner.
They’ve got an advanced built-in chipset that continuously keeps monitoring the low-frequency noise in your environment. By doing so, they calculate and therefore cancel out the ambient noise around you even before you get to hear it.
This’ll turn out to be very useful especially when you’re on a conference call.
These earbuds are designed in a way that will protect our hearing from harmful outside noises while serving you with an immersive musical experience. The innovative noise reduction technology effectively reduces noise up to 28dB. So far, this is the best budget AirPod Clones on my list.
Despite coming at such an affordable price, these also have the new 4-mic noise-cancelling technology that the JLab ones have. Sorta makes me wonder how they managed to get all this at such a cheap rate. What’s even more interesting about these earbuds are the audio drivers.
They’ve got huge 10mm drivers with lightweight PET diaphragm that’s made of high polymer material. This makes the oscillation even better. This, along with the finely tuned DAC can reproduce a super punchy bass and delicate treble at any volume level.
You wouldn’t have to turn the volume up and damage your hearing just to listen to the intricate details of your favorite song. To get the best sound, remember to choose the ear tip size that’s the best fit for you so that you can add more to the noise isolation and also keep the bass undisturbed.
The other thing that I found to be a pleasant surprise about these cheap AirPod alternatives is the playtime that they provide. Each earbud gives a massive 7 hours of playtime, and the charging case adds another 23 hours of it.
This makes it a total 30 hours of nonstop music along with 180 hours of standby time! That’s huge!
The charging case can be charged easily with any USB-C cable, and you can check the battery percentage of the earbuds on your phone once they’re connected. You’ll always know when you need to charge them.
The manufacturers didn’t mention anything about fast charging, but I guess they don’t take that long to charge considering the power efficiency the charging case produces.
They’re a great companion for working out and outdoor activities. The airtight design with IPX8 waterproof grade can withstand sweat, dust, and even light drizzle.
Speaking of working out, the touch controls of these earbuds are so user-friendly and convenient that you can literally get everything done on them with just the touch of a finger. Just use your finger to control your music, volume, answer and hang up calls, use voice assistant, everything!
All you have to do is simply by touching the panel on either earbud!
The makers at MPow claim to have undergone thousands of tests after finally coming up with 3 different sizes of extra-soft snug-fitting silicone ear gels to satisfy ears of all shapes and sizes.
No matter how big or small your ear canal is, you’ll find a pair that sit into them tight and snug with utmost comfort. When it comes to portability, the charging case is also small enough to fit inside your pocket. I mean, the dimensions are 0.16ft x 0.17ft x 0.11ft, which is even smaller than a man’s purse!
Pros
- Excellent ANC with built-in dual mics to cancel out ambient noises for an improved music and call quality.
- IPX8-grade waterproofing makes them capable of withstanding sweat, dust, and even light drizzle.
- Massive 10mm drivers with lightweight PET diaphragm made of high polymer material for an improved oscillation.
- Huge 30 hours battery life with 180 hours standby.
- Really affordable price and compact size makes them pocket-friendly both literally and figuratively.
Cons
- No integrated app for mobile remote control.
- Charger box is NOT waterproof. I consider that an inconvenience.

Buying A Pair of AirPod Clones? Here’s What You Need to Know!
Finding a good pair of AirPod clones should not be that difficult with so many brands and models out there. But finding the Budget-Friendly AirPod clones that would truly be the right ones for you might be a task.
There’s the question of preferences in style, sound signature, durability, battery life, and a hell lot of other stuff.
To make things easier for you, here I’ll try to pen down a few important aspects that you must know and keep in mind when buying AirPod clones.
Sorting Your Priorities
First things first, you should be very clear about what you’re looking for in the cheap AirPod clones you’re buying. Whether you want a good sound signature with optimum bass, or you want a big battery life, or if you want good waterproofing for working out.
Even sound signatures can be different based on your taste. You could go for the ones with bass booster if you like your bass deep and booming, or you could go for ones that are acoustic-oriented to get that warm and mellow tone for softcore music. It all depends on you, actually.
But setting your priorities right will help you narrow down your choices from so many options.
Are They Worth The Money?
Even if you’re a billionaire, of course you’d want to ensure that the product you’re buying is really worth the money. But remember that cheap is not always good. You won’t find quality earbuds at garage sale price rates.
That’s not very illegitimate either. Because they need a good quality Bluetooth chip that would be compatible with Qualcomm chipsets, to the very least. Good quality doesn’t come at a cheap rate, so if you’re willing to buy a pair of earbuds that would provide you with some quality service, be prepared to pay for it accordingly.
What Are Codecs and Why Do They Matter?
This is an aspect that only nerds and audiophiles pay attention to, but if I break it down for you in easy words, you’ll know the importance of it. Basically, a codec is the factor that determines how Bluetooth signal is transmitted from the source of the signal to your earbuds.
The term ‘codec’ is an abbreviation of the words ‘encode’ and ‘decode’, and that’s typically what a codec does. It transmits a high-fidelity signal at the minimum bitrate that’s specified. By doing so, the minimum amount of space and bandwidth is required for storage and playback.
A low bitrate results to a better compression and bad sound quality. The higher the bitrate, the clearer and richer the sound becomes. Which loosely translates to, the more wireless you go, the worse sound quality you’ll be getting.
But Low-complexity sub-band codec (SBC) compensates for this compromise by dividing the audio signal into multiple frequency bands while encoding each one separately. It’s the lowest common denominator among all the Bluetooth codecs.
With SBC, you’ll get manageable transfer rates (between 192 to 320kbps) delivered alright, but at the cost of significant data loss. It’s not the best codec out there, but it’s a must for all A2DP-enabled devices, which technically makes it universal.
But the problem with SBC is that it doesn’t support higher resolution music. I mean, you’ll notice how flat the sound signature gets while playing stuff that have a lot of details in them, such as classical symphonies.
Apple users have no other choice but to opt for SBC because Apple devices only support SBC and only a higher quality AAC (Advanced Audio Coding). But for Android users, there’s a wide range of codec options such as aptX or LDAC. I personally prefer the Hi-Res aptX HD for its spectacular sound quality.
Make sure you buy earbuds that have the right codecs for your device.
Tips on The Ear Tips
They may not look like much, but ear tips play one of the most important roles in making a pair of earbuds premium. Most earbud brands use silicon ear-tips and it’s quite understandable why. Since the earbuds have to be placed back inside the charging case after use, memory-foam ear tips won’t fit into the case.
Although I sometimes change the ear tips provided with my ear buds with memory-foam ones because they grow with the warmth of the ear canal and give a soothing sound along with a snug fit.
But if you find having to change ear tips such a big hassle, you could go with the ones that come with the earbuds.
A good pair of ear tips not only impact the comfort of wearing earbuds, but also affect their sound quality.
Battery Backup That Really Has Your Back
It goes without saying that companies exaggerate when talking about the battery life of their gadgets. Earbuds are no exception in this case. Most brands claim to provide 5 to 7 hours of playtime on each earbud, and an added 18-20 hours on the charging case. But in reality, you’ll get only 80% of the quoted figure.
Be sure to read the specs and features of any earbuds carefully before buying them. Some brands will only quote the combined playtime of three-four times from the case instead of quoting the playtime of each earbud.
Watch out for those. Do some research. If you see a playtime of 12-15 hours quoted, there’s no way that’s the continuous playing time you get on a single charge.
Keeping Things in Control
High-end models of Apple Airpod Alternatives for android will have control pads or buttons incorporated on the earpieces for controls. You can simply tap on them for volume controls, shuffling music, answering and hanging up calls, and to use the voice assistant.
The cheaper models don’t have any such buttons, so you’d have to control everything manually from your cellphone using separate apps for music, calling, and voice assistant. This also means you’d have to keep your cellphone close at hands at all time while using the earbuds.
This can be a huge drawback if you’re using them at the gym. Always having to reach for your phone to skip songs or change the volume levels will slow you down and distract you. So, it’s better to go for the ones that have control buttons/pads incorporated on them.
Noise Cancellation: With, Without, Or A Mix of Both?
Earbuds with an Active Noise Cancelling technology offer a feature that helps reduce environmental noise by using microphones that emit silent sound waves to bump off the external noises. But that comes at the cost of battery efficiency.
There’s also the issue of portability, because ANC earpieces tend to feel a bit chunky due to accommodating larger sized batteries that are required for the noise-cancelling circuitry.
Some of them come with a ‘Hear-Thru’ feature that allows you to adjust the noise cancelling to a level that is comfortable and safe for you. If you like listening to some lite music while running or jogging, then I’d recommend earbuds that have this feature for you.
Just in Case…
The charging case of your earbuds is equally important as the earbuds themselves. They provide the earbuds battery power and protection, while making them compact and easy to carry.
The case needs to feel robust so that you can take your earbuds out with you in all your adventures. If you get a pair of earbuds that are pretty decent but the case feels fragile, you’ll be left wondering how they’d perform under different challenging circumstances every time before planning a trip.
Do mind to check the hinge of the case if you feel like it’s going to be facing some rough handling. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Let’s Hear It Loud and Clear
Different earbud manufacturers have different approaches towards volume levels. Some need to be turned up to the extreme level for you to be able to fully enjoy the depths of your music, while others get the job done just with a bare minimum of 50%.
If you have the freedom of sound-checking your earbuds before buying them, if you’re buying them from a physical shop that is, make sure to check the volume levels.
Bluetooth earbuds will only produce the amount of volume that’s within the capability of their drivers. Unlike wired earphones, you can’t just plug them into portable headphone amplifiers to increase the volume levels0. Make sure to check the volume levels at different sound frequencies to test their true capabilities before buying a pair.
Cheap AirPod Alternatives Can be a Lifesaver!
Nothing like vibing to your favorite track while you’re working, or on a solo trip, or while you hit the gym. Bluetooth earbuds are especially designed for these activities so that you won’t have to get caught up and tangled in wires just to enjoy your music.
Also, if you need to move about a lot, and have to attend meetings/classes while doing so, of course you won’t want any pesky wires holding your back and slowing you down. If you belong to either of the categories, then wireless earbuds are the ideal tools for you.
Yes, they come at the cost of battery life and fit. But this inconvenience can be mitigated if you go through this write-up and do your own research before buying a pair.
